Robert A. Allen was in 1863 a Capt. and was given a unit Capt. Allen's Co. GA. Calvary and supposedly wounded fighting Sherman! I know he was in a unit before that and supposedly his unit was from the 6th GA Regiment. But I cannot find him anywhere but in the Capt. Allen's GA Cav. Thank you Karyn

Robert A. Allen, aged 82 years, died Tuesday, January 24, at the home of his daughter in Hoquiam, and was buried Friday at Vader. The deceased was a pioneer of Lewis county, coming to this county 40 years ago. About twenty years ago he moved to Hoquiam. He was a member of the Masons and Eastern Star at Silver Creek. Among the surviving relatives are two daughters in Lewis county, Mrs. V.O. Wallace of Chehalis and Mrs. Grant Wright of Onalaska, and a son, Jack Allen of Doty.
