Welcome Cemetery AKA Kulshan Cemetery

Welcome Cemetery (also known as Kulshan Cemetery) is located east of Mosquito Lake Road, 1.6 miles from Mt. Baker Highway. It is on a low hill just north of Canyon Lake Creek (SE1/4 of Sec 27, T39N R5E). This one acre cemetery is the second cemetery of the Welcome community; the first being on the James RIDDLE homestead behind the old Welcome school house. The bodies were removed to the present locaton on land donated from the homestead. It was dedicated to public use on 6 Nov and recorded 2 Dec 1907. The first recorded death is Emil SOLENE, 25 Feb 1894; the last, 67-1/2 years later, Albert D. SOLENE, 22 Oct 1961. There are no officials or known written records of this cemetery.

The cemetery is currently located on private property and is not accessible to the public.
