He was born in Shapleigh ME and was 18 years old when he enlisted on 9/30/1862 as a Private.

On 9/30/1862 he mustered into "K" Co. ME 27th Infantry
He was Mustered Out on 7/17/1863 at Portland, ME.

He applied for a pension on 6/4/1906 from the state of WA
application # 1,349,351.

He was a photographer and came to Washington State abt 1902. His wife Louise predeceased him and not long after (29 May 1912) he was admitted to the WSSH. 1900 census says they had one child who predeceased them both. Louise was born in Apr 1848 in New York and married Charles E Abbott in Booneville in abt 1867. He died at the WSSH Orting on 5 Jan 1915 and was buried in the cem there two days later. Effects, a gold watch and a small sum of cash, was left to a sister in Maine.
