Charles James was a Landsman in the Civil War U.S. Navy. He was the son of Peter and Eliza James.
He was the husband of Sarah P. (Talbot) James (1840-1928). SDC 10.28.1925 Page 5 Column 5 CHARLES JAMES, AGE 101, IS DEAD

Veteran of Civil War Passes Away at Home of Daughter Here. Charles James, age 101 years, a veteran of the Civil war, died last night at the home of his daughter, Mrs. G.M. Flu, W1123 Carlisle avenue.
Mr. James was born in New York state November 15, 1821. He had been a frequent visitor in Spokane during the last 15 years and had traveled extensively. He had made his home with his daughter for the last eight years. Mr. James is survived by his widow, Sarah; a daughter, Mrs. Flu, and a son, J. W. James, of Seattle. Funeral arrangements will not be made until after the arrival of the son from Seattle. The body is at Hazen-Jaeger's.
