Cypress Lawn Memorial Park was established in 1934 by Mr. & Mrs. Penroy. Situated on approximately 23 acres, the north side of the park is situated on a sloping hill and bestows a lovely view of the cascade mountains.
The first recorded burial at the location of Cypress Lawn was Edward Connoly b. 1840/NY died 1926. The last Civil War Soldier and one of the first members of the Grand Army of the Republic John Buford Post #89 Everett, WA Pvt. Semer Benjamin Tift born 4/24/1842 in Ohio died 3/1/1945 is buried in Cypress Lawn Cemetery.
