William Luther Weedin was the son of Matthew Weedin and Margaret Kirkpatrick. He married Susan Martha Brownfield on 16 September 1866 in Bates County, Missouri. In 1850 he was living with his parents in Saline County, Missouri. In 1905 Thomas Johns and William Weedin each donated an acre of land for the cemetery and the Bayview Cemetery Association was formed. This is now Bayview Cemetery West. In 1950 fifteen acres were added across Bayview Road, creating Bayview Cemetery East. William L Weedin having resided at Useless Bay on Whidbey Island. He had been a Private in Company B, 7th Missouri Regiment. He enlisted on 20 February 1862 and was discharged 5 April 1865 serving 3 years,2 months and 20 days.
