4th of July 1861 Warrensburg, Johnson Co. MO. Joshua and his father Oliver joined the 27th MO. Mounted Inf. as Pvt.s
Joshua was age-17 & Oliver 45. They were both in the Co. C and they were both at the first battle of Lexington, MO. and captured. Joshua was captured again at Kingsville, MO. Dec. 25 1861 by Rebel Capt. Cockrell. There is a letter in Joshua's military record from Oliver asking for his son to be released.

Just heard from the creator, Chad Eugene, that Joshua's death cert says, "Single". so he did not marry. This info is from the death cert. She also tells us that he was a resident for 9 years. And he was a stenographer. And
