Amos P. Smith, 73, died June 23, 1913 at Fort Steilacoom, Washington. He was the son of William E. and Sarah (Paugbon) Smith. [Washington State Death Records]

The body of Amos P. Smith, who died yesterday in Tacoma, was expected here this afternoon. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at the parlors of Inman & Rose. Mr. Smith made his home for many years with his sister, Mrs. R. W. Allen, 405 North Second street in this city. He was about 75 years old and was a veteran of the civil war, serving in the Vermont light artillery. He leaves four brothers in Vermont.
