| Obit/Notes | -- Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Saturday, August 28, 1926, page 5, column B VET WILL REST BESIDE WIFE [photo] Beside the grave of his wife, who passed on five months ago, Ceylon F. Williams, eighty-three, past grand mast of the Odd Fellows' Lodge of the state of Washington, Civil War veteran and honorary member of the Foreign Legion, will be buried in Lake View Cemetery, Sunday, following the services at the Home Undertaking Company's Chapel at 3 o'clock. Services will be directed by Stevens Post, G. A. R.; Women's Relief Corps, and Golden Link Lodge, I. O. O. F., in the order named. Orphaned at the age of five, Williams overcame many difficulties in getting an education. At eighteen he enlisted as a cavalryman at the outbreak of the Civil War. Later he became a telegraph operator. As an Odd Fellow, he held every office excepting that of grand sire. He organized a national bank in Nebraska and remained active there until coming to Seattle in 1889. Williams leaves a daughter, Mrs. R. E. Mills, in whose home he died in Burbank, Calif., August 21, and a grandson, Ivo Ceylon Crockett of Los Angeles. -- Funeral notice, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Saturday, August 28, 1926, page 17, column F WILLIAMS - At Burbank, Calif., Aug. 21, 1926, CEYLON F.
