Seattle, King County, Washington,

Born into slavery to owner Andrew Robinson of Parksville, Platte County, Missouri, and to parents, George Clark and Sarah Robinson, David escaped slavery and joined the Union Army in 1862 in Kansas. His brother Edward, buried at Seattle's GAR Cemetery, also fled at the same time. Brothers Thomas and Alexander would join their older brothers 2 years later.

He was a survivor of the bitter battle at Poison Springs, AR, where the Confederate Army massacred and murdered the black soldiers of 79th USC Infantry. After the War, David moved around: Kansas, Montana, South Dakota, Idaho and finally to Seattle. At his death, he left no descendants.
